The 7th annual Analog 4x4 features 3 ride options for ‘25. There's the classic 40 miler, with the rocky class 4 roads and the hike a bikes, but we're also introducing the 2x4 (25ish miles, two class 4 roads, over 2500' less climbing) and the 1x4 for folks who just wanna sample platter: a bit of rail trail, a bit of dirt road, a singular class 4 road.
This year your entry fee gets you a pour over coffee (or tea if that's your thing), a handmade donut, tacos (all of that from our friends at the Poultney Pub) and Buschgaritas and or some NA's, plus the ride of course! We also have an option for folks who wanna hang out, eat all the good food, but not ride.
The rides will feature some of the SKOV (Southwest Kingdom of Vermont’s) most scenic gravel riding. Plus ya know, Class 4 roads which are dirt roads that are not generally maintained and sorta left to fall to pieces. Poultney’s road maintenance budget is basically non-existent, so our class 4 roads are wonderfully terrible. Expect wash outs, ‘gravel’ the size of GMO grapefruits, steep grades and wonderful views. The ride weaves in and out of the woods and farm lands. Plenty of climbing but lots of great eye candy, like cows and red barns, and a cold river.
A note about camping: in the past, we've had folks sign up for camping thru bikereg. This year, we're doing the camping registration thru hip camp. It'll cost you less if you're in a group or even if there is just two of you. We'll email info about camping sign ups to you as soon as you register.
The 4x4 is about fun, so there’s pre-ride pour overs and handmade donuts, swimming in the really cold river, optional camping, a chill group ride pace, and lots of stopping for photos and the like. At the end of the day, we'll serve up a big ole taco spread and ply you with Buschgaritas. It's the opposite of a Gravel Enduro, in other words. Hang out at Analog's old HQ in the woods after the ride for a bonfire and super good tacos from our friends at Poultney Pub. There's camping on premise and nearby if you wanna dial it up a bit.
Casual pace, don’t bring your racer outfit. Crocs > Clipless
