We are kicking off the 2025 season with a SMGR in true New England fashion... wet, cold, and wild. But more importantly, we are starting this year with a ride in support of someone who has opened up the gravel race season in New England year after year, Anthony Moccia, co-founder of Rasputitsa Dirt. As many of you know, Anthony has been undergoing treatment for metastatic lung cancer. Although Rasputitsa isn't on the schedule this year, he is asking us to keep the spirit of the event alive. Saturday, March 29th, we will be leading a group ride out of Enfield. There will be two course options to choose from, tame or wild. Both courses intersect at multiple points so there are bailout options. It will be cold in the high 30s so dress accordingly. The wet weather is supposed to be later in the afternoon, but expect it to be a little wet regardless. Rasputitsa (from Russian: распу́тица [rɐsˈputʲɪtsə]; literally "season of bad roads") is the mud season that occurs in various rural areas of Eastern Europe, when the rapid snowmelt or thawing of frozen ground combined with wet weather in spring, or heavy rains in autumn lead to muddy conditions that make travel on unpaved roads problematic and even treacherous - Courtesy of Wikipedia Ride Policy SMGR Ride Policy
