When Tue Apr 28 5:30pm Sunset 7:48pm Where Hartford Library and Cornerstone Community Center Route UVWCC: Quechee loop from library 17.4 miles, 1,216 feet Leaders Becky Fielder, Alix Norris, Carrie Baughman, Jodee Allen Calendar iCal Download Description Welcome to the start of the ladies’ social ride season! We are pleased to offer both a standard pace and a “party pace” for those who want to take it a little slower. This week both groups will follow the same route. As it is a shorter loop, we will take a few minutes at the start to go over basic group riding safety and bike checks. We’ll start out at the Library/Community Center in Hartford (1587 Maple Street), cross the new bridge to Old River Road, up and over Old Quechee Road to Main Street, then a final climb up Quechee-West Hartford Road for a sweet descent on the famous s-curves. Regroup on Rte 14 across from Waweco before we head back to the start, hopefully with a bit of paceline practice along the way. The route is fully paved, though some of the roads have rough spots and bumps/cracks from winter frost heaves. Mandatory Regroups: End of Old Quechee Road (mile 5.6), across from Waweco on Rte 14 (approx. mile 12). NOTE: The ladies’ social rides are no-drop, supported rides. That being said, as the group can often fragment (especially on long climbs), all riders must have access to the route on them - either via a bike computer or on a mobile app such as Strava or Ride With GPS. As a reminder, the Tuesday UVWCC social rides are for women, trans women, and femmes only. Ride Policy UVWCC Ride Policy
