Academy is a 2.8 mile climb with 554ft of elevation gain. The descent of 113 pays that climb back. Rt5 is a long flat road that follows the river and is ideal for pace lines. Description Initially, we will follow the same route as the previous ride from Huntley Meadows: Goodrich 4 Corners to the base of the dam. Instead of climbing the dam, we will cross the covered bridge and begin the long climb up Academy. The initial climb is steep, so be prepared immediately after the covered bridge. The descent from Academy to Rt. 5 is a good time to take it easy and recover from the climb. We will regroup at the end of G4C, the end of Union Village, at the top of Academy, and before the pace line along Rt 5. The ride can be extended by turning left onto Latham.
