Route1 Summary

A climby route with a short section of uphill gravel on Reservoir. The major climbs are Grasse, Stevens and then a longer climb on Hardy Hill and Laramie. The reward is a long descent from the junction with King to the covered bridge. The return is via Heater Rd, Great Hollow and Greensboro.

Description

A mostly road route (gravel on Reservoir climb) which is defined by the climbs. We will climb Grasse, Stevens, Hardy Hill, and Laramie. The reward is a 4 mile descent of Laramie and Hardy Hill without the gravel on King.

There is a possibility that we run out of daylight. If this looks likely then we will detour using Jenkins (Route2).

Remember to bring a blinky and perhaps a front light in case we are delayed. Reflective clothing or accents are not a bad idea at this time of year.

The corner where Hardy Hill crosses Jenkins and Brook Rd can be tricky with gravel on the apex of the turn. Be careful about your speed and road position. The junction looks like this and we will be turning to the right.
