Location
Town
Hanover
Map
Description

We will leave the Oak Hill lot and head up the hill to Trescott, down Partridge and over to Ruddsboro Rd, where we’ll continue the climb up Three Mile.  From there it’s a nice descent down Ferson to Hanover Center Rd and Rennie Rd, then a right onto Route 10 and we’ll take on some mild Class VI on Shoestrap.  Left onto River Rd and a nice rolling return with just the Chieftain left to conquer before we roll back to Oak Hill for some post-ride pond dipping and maybe even some snacks (BYOB)!

Oak Hill - Five and Dime

Hanover
Summary

Simple all road route. Leaving from Oak Hill turn right on reservoir. Around the roundabout to take the bike path into Hanover. Turn right on Maynard. Left on North Main Street and then right on Tuck Mall. Ignore the no entry signs to turn right onto Tuck Drive. Descend the hill carefully, avoiding oncoming traffic and trash in the "bike lane". Turn right to cross the bridge and right onto River Rd. Merge with Rt 5 and settle into 9 miles of paceline. We detour via Pavillion to regroup. Turn right over the Connecticut on East Thetford. At the top of the long hill we turn right onto Lyme Rd to head back to the start.

Description

BUp the Quechee-West Hartford road.  (No grumbling -- a climbing start means a descending finish. :-)  )  Then onto the rollercoaster that is Joe Ranger, Bunker Hill, Old Kings Highway, and Cloudland.  Drop down Barber Hill to the Pomfret road, refuel at the Teago store, and continue down Stage.  Up the long Wild Apple climb to Skyline.  Down Webster Hill and then the full paved Pomfret road descent to the start.

Hardy - Sunset - Shaker Blvd

Town
Lebanon
Summary

A mix of road and gravel. We leave CCBA on the rail trail and then climb Hardy Hill to Sunset Rock, a gravel descent. A short distance along Rt 4 to Ice House Rd to rejoin the rail trail. We exit the rail trail to cross over Mascoma Lake, preferably using the bridge. Rt 4A takes us to Shaker Blvd, a pleasant winding gravel road along the back of the lake. We rejoin the rail trail for a third time to head back to Riverside where we cross the covered bridge to take Bank St Extension and the rail trail (again!) to return to CCBA.
