This is a challenging and scenic cycling route covering 112.09 miles with a total elevation gain of 13,736 feet. It's designed for cyclists looking for a demanding ride featuring multiple significant climbs and descents across gravel and paved terrain.

Hardy - Sunset - Shaker Blvd

Summary

A mix of road and gravel. We leave CCBA on the rail trail and then climb Hardy Hill to Sunset Rock, a gravel descent. A short distance along Rt 4 to Ice House Rd to rejoin the rail trail. We exit the rail trail to cross over Mascoma Lake, preferably using the bridge. Rt 4A takes us to Shaker Blvd, a pleasant winding gravel road along the back of the lake. We rejoin the rail trail for a third time to head back to Riverside where we cross the covered bridge to take Bank St Extension and the rail trail (again!) to return to CCBA.

Description

Up Bragg and Beaver Meadow and Downer across to South Strafford.  Up the Justin Morrill to Strafford, where we'll stop to grab a snack at the Occasional Rooster. Fortified, we'll climb the ugly pavement on Brook, and then enjoy the long Fay Brook descent.  A short leg on Rt. 14, then Quimby Mt. to Mitchell Brook to Beaver Meadow and back to the start

Description

Starting at Oak Hill.  Up Reservoir and Grasse to Trescott and then Partridge to Etna Road.  Up Dogford back to Etna Road, then north to the gravel climb up Ferson.   3 Mile to Old Dana and down Ruddsboro to Etna and Greensboro, then South Park to Wheelock to Rip and back to Oak Hill

UVWCC Solstice Ride - Pomfret

Description

This route starts and ends at the Watson Dog Park in Hartford. We’ll start out with a flat ride along Route 14 then cross the river for the climb up into Pomfret. We will regroup at the West Hartford Public Library, then again at the top of Pomfret Road at the Town Hall.  Then a long descent into Woodstock, out River Road to the Taftsville Bridge where we will regroup again. From there we head into Quechee, up and over Old Quechee Road, regroup at Costello Road intersection, then a nice downhill cruise on Old River Road and back to the start.
