Tour D'Orford 2026

Town
Orford, NH
Map
Description

This is the maiden counterclockwise version of the route from 2025, featuring a lot of double track, class IV, and even a little light single track.  Expect the pace to be slower than a typical SMGR, and since there are no stores along the way, we will plan to drop some water around mile 30.  Bring all the food you might need for 5+ hours.

Folks can detour the single track section near mile 6 over Acorn/Pinnacle Hill in Lyme, by cutting over to Highbridge Road, and regroup with us where Franklin Hill Road and Acorn Hill Road intersect at mile 8.

Map
Description

This route is marked by long steady climbs on some lesser-traveled roads for SMGR.  Starting out in West Hartford, the route crosses the White River and begins the first long climb up Pomfret Road and Allen Hill Road, then descends into East Barnard.  Up East Barnard Road to Royalton Turnpike, then a turn onto North Perry Road into the first Class IV road (variable gravel, some adventurous terrain in the middle, with a ledgy descent) to South Perry Road.  From there, the route turns left onto Route 12 then the next left onto Lakota Road to climb Schoolhouse Hill.
