Description

Weather is looking up for Saturday!

David M , Sarah S, and I will be co-leading this classic route across Province Road, past Sculptured Rocks, Newfound Lake and back over Washburn Hill. Province Road is technically a class IV road, but it is generally (no promises!) well maintained and should be in good shape. Definitely a stream crossing is involved, which is the bridge building we will do (metaphorically, don't worry!), but that section of pavé is relatively mild. The Bear Hill and Cole Hill class IV sections are more technical, but deliver a really cool adventure connecting Newfound Lake to the shoulder of Cardigan Mountain. The view at the top of Washburn is worth the climb.

David, Sarah, and I will cover A and B+ paces. With Fran away if anyone would like to volunteer to lead her B-paced group, I'm sure many folks would be grateful.

I'm not planning a stop, so please plan to self support.

Please park behind Canaan Jake's or in public parking in "downtown" Canaan (1/4 mile down the road) and ride over.

For those looking for an extra big day, we'll refuel back at Jakes and I'll host an after party around Moose Mountain and Mascoma/Crystal Lake and Grafton Pond.

Feel free to reach out with questions: jotham.burnett@gmail.com

See you Saturday at 9am!

Joe
