Route Summary

The "Five and Dime" is a classic upper valley route, mostly flat, with gradual climbs, rolling hills, and serene views of the Connecticut River. There is a small detour onto Pavilion Rd off of Rt 5 for easy re-groups. Crosses the Ledyard Bridge and Lyme-East Thetford Bridge. Climbs include Chieftain Hill on RT 10.

Description

A pure road ride this week. Starting from Garipay we cross the Connecticut River via the Ledyard Bridge into Norwich, turn north onto Rt 5 (River Road), then a small detour onto Pavilion Rd for a rolling re-group. We cross back into New Hampshire over the Lyme-East Thetford Bridge onto East Thetford Road leading riders back onto Route 10 and Garipay.

A more leisurely “party pace” ride will also be offered. The route will be similar, modified according to the needs of the group.

Mandatory Regroup: End of Pavillion Rd before turning back onto Rt 5 (12.1 mi)

As a reminder, the Tuesday UVWCC social rides are for women only.
