Summary

The "Five and Dime" is a classic upper valley route, mostly flat, with gradual climbs, rolling hills, and serene views of the Connecticut River. There is a small detour onto Pavilion Rd off of Rt 5 for easy re-groups. Crosses the Ledyard Bridge and Lyme-East Thetford Bridge. Climbs include Chieftain Hill on RT 10.

Description

The route heads south on Route 10 towards Dartmouth College, a right onto Maynard Street then a left onto North Main Street. Cyclists head south on Tuck Drive, a short descent that leads to back to Route 10. The route crosses the Connecticut River via the Ledyard Bridge into Norwich, Vermont. Upon entering Norwich, cyclists turn north onto Route 5 (River Road) offering serene views and a relatively flat terrain, with a small detour onto Pavilion Rd. The route crosses back into New Hampshire via the Lyme-East Thetford Bridge onto East Thetford Road leading riders back onto Route 10 and back to Garipay.
