Hopson-Old River-Tigertown-Beaver Meadow

Town
Norwich
Summary

A mixed gravel and road route. Starting from Huntley Meadows, we sneak over Hopson to get to Rt. 5. Heading south, we cross the White River to follow Old River Rd., both the road and gravel sections. Don’t be tempted to climb Costello! At the end of Old River Rd we turn right to descend through the exciting S-curves. Tigertown is a long gravel, tree-covered, stream-adjacent climb. After the shock of the short but steep Chapel Hill, we are rewarded by the long descent of Beaver Meadows.

Lahaye - Mt Support - Stevens - Trescott

Location
Town
Hanover
Summary

The route starts from Oak Hill, Hanover. Use Rip and Valley to get to Rt 120 and head south to Medical Center Drive and Lahaye Drive. Anti-clockwise around DHMC and turn right at the roundabout to descend Mount Support. Cross the big, scary junction with the 120 to get to Heater Rd. Take the Bank St Extension to Hardy Hill. Turn left onto Stevens and prepare for the climb. Right onto Etna, quick left onto Trescott and finally Grasse followed by Reservoir to get back to Oak Hill.

Hardy - Sunset - Shaker Blvd

Town
Lebanon
Summary

A mix of road and gravel. We leave CCBA on the rail trail and then climb Hardy Hill to Sunset Rock, a gravel descent. A short distance along Rt 4 to Ice House Rd to rejoin the rail trail. We exit the rail trail to cross over Mascoma Lake, preferably using the bridge. Rt 4A takes us to Shaker Blvd, a pleasant winding gravel road along the back of the lake. We rejoin the rail trail for a third time to head back to Riverside where we cross the covered bridge to take Bank St Extension and the rail trail (again!) to return to CCBA.
